This policy explains what personal information Business Fashion Advisors collects through this website, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. It is written to meet the requirements of the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act.

Who we are

Business Fashion Advisors is an operations advisory practice serving apparel and consumer goods businesses. We operate from California and New York. For any question about this policy or your personal information, contact us through the form on our contact page.

What we collect

We collect a deliberately small amount of information.

Identifiers and contact details you give us. If you submit our contact form or book a call, we receive your name, email address, and anything else you choose to write, which may include your company name and a description of your business situation.
Scheduling information. Call bookings are handled through Microsoft Bookings, which records the meeting time and the contact details you enter.
Internet activity information. Our host, Webflow, records standard server logs including IP address, browser type, referring page and time of visit. This happens automatically for any website.

We do not ask for and do not want sensitive personal information as that term is defined under California law. Please do not send financial account numbers, government identifiers, health information, or precise location data through this website.

Why we collect it

To reply to your enquiry and hold the conversation you asked for
To schedule and conduct calls
To provide advisory services if you become a client
To keep the website secure and working, which is the purpose of the server logs
To meet legal, tax and record-keeping obligations

We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not send marketing email unless you have asked us to.

We do not sell or share your personal information

We have not sold personal information in the preceding twelve months, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined under California law. We do not sell or share the personal information of anyone under sixteen, because we do not knowingly collect it at all.

Who else sees it

We use a small number of service providers to run the business, and they may process your information only to perform services for us.

Microsoft, which provides our email and the Bookings scheduling tool

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal claims. If the business is ever sold or reorganised, client and enquiry records may transfer as part of that transaction.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become engagements are kept for up to two years and then deleted. Client records are kept for seven years after the engagement ends, which reflects contractual and tax record-keeping requirements. Server logs are retained on our host's standard schedule.

Your rights under California law

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights.

To know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we disclosed it to
To receive a copy of that information in a portable format
To have it deleted, subject to exceptions where we are required to keep records
To correct inaccurate personal information
To opt out of sale or sharing, though as stated above we do neither
To limit the use of sensitive personal information, though we do not collect it
Not to be treated differently for exercising any of these rights. We will not refuse service, charge a different price, or provide a lesser standard of service because you made a request

How to make a request

Submit a request through our contact page and tell us which right you are exercising. We will verify your identity, usually by confirming details you have already given us, and respond within forty-five days. If we need more time we will tell you, and the extension will not exceed a further forty-five days.

An authorised agent may make a request on your behalf with written permission from you, which we may ask to verify directly with you.

Cookies and tracking

We do not run advertising or analytics tracking on this website. Your host may set strictly necessary cookies required for the site to function. If we add analytics in future, this policy will be updated before that happens and you will see the change reflected in the date at the top of this page.

Children

This is a business-to-business website and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under sixteen.

Changes to this policy

We review this policy at least once a year and update it when our practices change. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
