Retailer vendor compliance directory

Where each major retailer keeps its vendor portal, routing guide and compliance rules, and what to expect when you onboard. Routing guides almost always sit behind a vendor login, so this page tells you where to look rather than reproducing documents that change.

Retailer requirements change often. Treat this as a map, and confirm every detail against the retailer's current vendor documentation and your vendor agreement before you ship.

Nordstrom

Where to look: Nordstrom's supplier website, nordstromsupplier.com, hosts the routing guide, supplier compliance documentation and RFID specification sheets. Accounts payable questions go through Nordstrom's vendor portal.

Onboarding: new vendors are given an EDI compliance date and access to Nordstrom's compliance site. EDI testing has run through an OpenText portal, with test purchase orders checked against the routing guide and the distribution centre assigned to each store.

Dropship: Nordstrom runs dropship through Dsco, now part of Rithum.

Worth knowing: Nordstrom's distribution centres match every carton and SKU against the ASN, and routing expectations are updated within the vendor portal. Check it before each season rather than relying on last year's guide.

Macy's and Bloomingdale's

Where to look: both banners run on one shared set of Vendor Standards, managed through MacysNet. The routing guide and distribution centre best practices require a MacysNet login.

EDI: vendors must be EDI capable and test against Macy's mapping guides before going live. Macy's preferred EDI network is provided by OpenText.

Worth knowing: Macy's calls chargebacks expense offsets, so that is the term to search for in your remittances. There are separate standards documents for wholesale, for vendor direct dropship, and for Macy's private brands. Macy's does not reimburse freight charges a vendor incurs, and changes to your shipping locations or company details must reach Macy's at least thirty days before they take effect.

Target

Where to look:Partners Online, Target's supplier portal. It holds EDI specifications, routing guides and vendor scorecards, across dozens of separate applications covering orders, shipping, item setup, invoicing and disputes.

EDI: the core set is the 850, 855, 856 and 810, with formal testing and certification before go-live.

Worth knowing: Target's marketplace, Target Plus, is a separate programme and is largely by invitation. Selling there is not the same as being a wholesale vendor.

Walmart

Where to look: Supplier One is where orders, returns, payments and deductions sit. Retail Link is the older data and reporting environment, with a large set of separate apps. Transportation runs through Walmart's own transportation portal.

Routing: Walmart publishes a Shipping and Routing Guide for collect suppliers, where Walmart arranges the freight. Purchase orders are confirmed into routing through the transportation portal, and suppliers follow the carrier and load instructions issued there.

Worth knowing: the timing of Walmart deductions follows your individual payment terms, so the same failure can surface on a different schedule from one supplier to the next. Walmart Marketplace is a separate seller programme from wholesale supply.

Kohl's

Where to look: Kohl's vendor portal is K-Link, which you register for using the vendor number your merchant provides. Compliance runs through a separate compliance portal, and new suppliers start from Kohl's supplier resources page.

Onboarding: Kohl's onboarding includes a vendor setup packet with an EDI trading partner agreement, a new vendor webinar, EDI setup and testing, and a review of the routing guide and transportation tutorials before your first purchase order is routed.

EDI and dropship: alongside the 850, 855, 860, 856 and 810, dropship suppliers typically send the 846 inventory feed. Kohl's dropship runs through Dsco, now part of Rithum.

Dillard's

Where to look: Dillard's sets out its requirements in a Vendor Compliance Manual, and its vendor relations team provides EDI vendor guidelines covering required documents, testing procedures and contacts. Product data goes into an electronic catalogue.

Worth knowing: Dillard's trading partner specifications include the 812 credit and debit adjustment. If you are reconciling deductions, look for 812s as well as remittance detail, or you will miss part of the picture.

Saks Fifth Avenue, Saks OFF 5TH and Neiman Marcus

These banners now sit under one parent company, and dropship for several of them has run through Dsco. Because the group's structure has changed recently, confirm the current vendor portal, routing guide and dropship platform directly with your buyer rather than relying on older documentation.
